What does it mean when the address from the CPR register has a "hoej vejkode"?

When an address retrieved from the Danish CPR register has the status "Bopæl i Danmark høj vejkode", it means the person is officially registered without a permanent residence in Denmark.

In the CPR system, a "høj vejkode" (high road code) refers to codes in the range 9900–9939. These are used specifically to register individuals who do not have a valid, permanent residential address.

Why does this happen?

This status can occur for several reasons:

  • The person has not properly reported a change of address.

  • The person has been administratively removed from their previous address by the municipality.

  • No physical address is available to register them at (neither a residence nor a fixed place of stay).

In these cases, the person remains registered in their most recent municipality, but without an actual physical address. The "high road code" serves as a technical marker for "no fixed residence."

Why is the address different in the flow?

If you notice that the address entered by the customer in a flow does not match the data retrieved from CPR, this is likely the reason. The customer may have entered a temporary or preferred address, while they are officially registered in CPR with a "hoej vejkode" - meaning no fixed residence.
