Understanding Uniify
To get the most out of Uniify, it is helpful to understand the terminology we use to describe the process from start to finish.
Modules
Modules are the building blocks used to assemble your flow. They determine which data is collected and how it is retrieved.
There are two types of modules, depending on how they retrieve data:
Background Modules:
These modules operate automatically "behind the scenes." They fetch data from official registries (e.g., CreditSafe or PEP/AML) without requiring any action from the client.Frontend Modules:
These modules require active participation from the client. This is where the user might upload a driver's license, sign a document, or complete a form.
Flows
A flow is a series of modules arranged in a specific order. It represents the actual journey that the data or your customer must go through.
Background Flow:
Consists exclusively of background modules. These operate without being visible to the end-user and submit data automatically. Examples include CPR lookups or PEP/AML checks.Frontend/Onboarding Flow:
Designed to guide the end-user through a series of steps, such as identity verification or custom forms. A frontend flow can contain both frontend and background modules to ensure a comprehensive data collection process.
Entities
An entity is the person or company that the case is about. This is where all data is stored and organized in your system.
Primary Entity: The main person or company starting the onboarding process
Secondary Entities: Persons or companies associated with the case, such as a spouse in a private case or authorized signatories in a corporate case.
Cases
A case acts as the overall "folder" that gathers all content related to a specific customer application or process. This is where you have the full overview and manage which flows should be activated. A case is based on a primary entity but can contain several secondary entities. All data collected through flows is automatically saved and stored under the associated case.
Documents
Documents are the visible files and evidence generated during the process. They act as components that can be accessed across the case, entity, and flow levels.
This covers everything from client uploads (e.g., photos of a driver's license) to system-generated reports (e.g., a Creditsafe report) or signed documents.
Documents can be accessed both via the dashboard and through our API.
